A daily wage worker, dependent on BP medication, had to stop taking his pills due to financial difficulties. One day, he experienced numbness in his right hand, which soon turned into severe tremors affecting both his hand and leg. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, his family reached out to us. We immediately advised hospitalization at Navale Hospital, where a CT scan revealed a paralysis attack caused by two blood clots in his brain, leading to significant swelling.
Despite initial medication, the swelling did not subside, leaving doctors with no choice but to perform a critical surgery. As part of the procedure, a portion of his skull was temporarily removed and placed in his abdomen to relieve pressure on the brain. The patient underwent intensive treatment for three months, during which his feeding tube was also removed after significant recovery.
However, due to financial constraints and a lack of awareness about government healthcare schemes, the patient and his family were hesitant about proceeding with the treatment. Through Sevaarogya Foundation, we educated them on available assistance and ensured his entire treatment was covered under the Mahatma Phule Jan Arogya Yojana.
Now, the patient is steadily recovering and is scheduled for his next surgery in the coming week. Sevaarogya Foundation, through its partnerships with various hospitals, continues to provide quality healthcare to underprivileged patients, ensuring they receive the best possible treatment at minimal or no cost. Our mission remains to bridge the gap between healthcare and financial barriers, offering hope to those in need.
